Introduction
The best way to measure the quality of end-user experience (QoE) in mobile networks is to run active tests with programmatically controlled native mobile apps, the same ones used by real subscribers. However, active testing with test protocols that produce synthetic traffic has its place, for example, in machine-to-machine and industrial use cases, with services where active testing with real apps is impractical, and in general when the focus is on the network’s ability to maintain quality of service (QoS) rather than on a complete end-to-end chain of communication and the resulting QoE. In this white paper, we will dive deeper into the best practices of QoS measurements with synthetic traffic active testing.
